A transfer between two of your own accounts is not income or an expense. It is money changing pockets, so it should be counted once and stay off your Profit and Loss. Paying the business credit card from checking is the most common one.
Each side arrives as its own bank transaction, so the job is linking the two. In Switchbooks, when both sides arrive and can only match each other, they are linked and posted on their own. When there is more than one possible match, the choices show at the top of the category picker, or you can ask Switch to match them. Sides up to 31 days apart can be matched, and the bank dates never change.
Money that moves to an account outside these books, like your personal checking, is not a transfer. It is usually an owner's draw or distribution, which goes to equity.
