Is my financial data safe with an AI doing the bookkeeping?

It can be, if the setup limits what the AI can touch. The questions worth asking any AI bookkeeping tool are where you type your bank password, whether it can move money, and who can see the books.
In Switchbooks, you sign in to your bank on Plaid's own screen, never in Switchbooks, so neither Switchbooks nor Switch ever sees your bank login. The connection only reads bank data, such as transactions, balances and statements. It cannot move money. Bank connection tokens are kept in an encrypted vault, and each company's books are open only to the people on that company.
Switch runs on AI models from xAI and OpenAI. His changes are recorded and most can be undone, and anything permanent, like deleting or merging, waits for you to type yes.
To be plain about it, Switchbooks does not hold a SOC 2 certification. The security page lists the controls in place.
